Come and hear from an agent, a casting director and an actor on the do's and don't of casting

Panel Discussion Sunday 17th November 2019, 11:45 to 13:00

We will be joined by Claire Murray of Brennan Artists, Casting Director Anna Dawson and Actor Neil Leiper to discuss the do’s and don’ts of casting and performance. The aim of this session is to inform and equip actors and film makers with the necessary tools and information on casting, from both an actors perspective as well as the film makers. This is an essential FYFF experience if you are intent on an acting career or are seeking to cast actors in your next film.

Claire Murray is Company Director and Agent at Brennan Artists. She worked as an actress herself for 17 years before forming Brennan Artists Associates in 2015.  The company has thrived and Brennan Artists now boasts its own literary/creative and voice divisions. Claire is passionate about supporting, nurturing and promoting Scotland based artists in all forms of work throughout the UK and beyond.

Anna Dawson – started her career whilst studying at University, she has since honed her skills working with some of the very best Casting Directors in the business.  Anna’s credits include Outlander, BBC’s The Replacement and teen series Logan High.  She also worked on Moon Dogs and the soon to be released Marionette and The Toll as well as CBBC’s Last Commanders. She is currently co casting with Simone Pereira Hind at the Royal Lyceum Edinburgh.

Neil Leiper – is an exciting award winning Scottish Actor, his feature film credits include;  Beats, Connect, Wasted and The Angels Share.  Television Credits include Logan High and Still Game. He has also worked extensively in Theatre. In 2014 he received the Best Actor Award at the 2014 Glasgow 48 Hour Film Project for Passing Place which he wrote and co-directed.
