A young persons introduction to the filmmaking process!  Throughout this 3 hour workshop the young people will learn the filmmaking process from start to finish. They will learn about the different roles on a film set, and get a look into the key stages of screenwriting, cinematography and editing. We will do this by looking at examples from popular films and getting hands on with some equipment! By the end of this event the kids will have created a short scene that will be shown at the FANS closing screening!

Participants will leave feeling like they can express themselves through film, and with the technology so readily available – they will be able to!

Aged 10-14 year olds

This workshop will be delivered by Anthony Chalmers – an independent filmmaker based in Scotland. After directing three short films that have been screened in the UK and abroad, he started CREW, a fresh  youth arts project that teaches filmmaking basics to young people. He regularly produces and hosts events for filmmaking initiatives including independent collective Glasgow Film Crew, GMAC Film and the Glasgow Short Film Festival.
