Women in Technical Roles

Meet some of the women who have broken through into the technical grades of film and television

Programme Strands: GIRL POWER
Panel Discussion Sunday 18th November 2018, 11:00 to 12:30

The technical side of film-making is traditionally dominated by men, but not today, come and hear from some of the women taking control in the technical grades:

Becky Thompson: 10 years ago Becky relocated to the Scottish Highlands after working for 20 years from bases in Central Scotland and London. She now works mainly in documentary, current affairs, ‘reality TV’ and corporates.  Her background includes many episodes of Thames TV’s ‘The Bill’ and four feature films amongst many other dramas. Earlier in her career she worked in the Highlands and Islands principally on Gaelic documentaries and drama.  Becky originally trained in Film Sound Recording for drama at Shepperton Studios having started in Independent and BBC radio as a broadcaster. She is very keen on Salsa dancing and swimming (not at the same time).
