Film Festival Submissions Are Now Open
Submit Your Film to the 2019 Festival.
We are looking for short films made by young people aged 14 to 25 years old. Films must be no longer than 15 minutes long and have been made in the last 2 years.
We want to see films in any and all genres including Drama, Documentary, Music Video’s, Animation and Experimental.
We do not accept University and College course work, but welcome applications from students with films made out-with college and university.
Individuals can submit up to 3 films – please use a new form for each submission. Organisations working with young people may submit more films by prior arrangement.
We will be awarding fantastic prizes in the following categories;
- The Youth Team Award for Excellence
- The Audience Award for Excellence
- The Funniest Film
- The Most Resourceful Film
- The Most Imaginative Film
- The Best Film Moment
- Achievement in Cinematography
- Achievement in Sound / Score
The Film Challenges
We want to see 2 minute films in one of the following three categories;
- ‘One Take’ – films consisting of one shot
- Films on the theme of ‘Pressure’
- Trailers’ (we do not encourage films made using trailer templates).
We are also collaborating with the Youth Cinema Network on a further Film Challenge: ‘Film For The Future’ – these 2 minute films will explore the Climate Crisis protests by young people around the world. Films submitted in this category will be screened at Youth Films Festivals around the world.
Film Must be no longer than 2 minutes long!
All of the films submitted in the Film Challenge section will be screened on a loop throughout the Youth Film Festival weekend.
Individuals may submit 1 film in each category and up to 3 films in total.
