Station House Media Unit [shmu] are seeking to recruit a Development Worker for a new and exciting Community TV Initiative in Aberdeen.
37 hours per week, £26,371 – £29,070 p/a
shmu, at the forefront of community media development in the UK, operates across the regeneration areas of Aberdeen, and with other disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals and groups across the North East of Scotland.
Having completed a £1.5m transformation of the building’s HQ in Woodside, Aberdeen, creating a visionary creative media hub for the region, and having undergone a strategic and organisational review, we are looking for exceptional, innovative, community minded individuals to join our team.
Funding secured from the Scottish Government’s Investing in Communities Fund has allowed our organisation to complement and enhance our existing programme of work, allowing us to realise our ambition to establish a Community TV platform; creating an exciting and engaging new initiative and an outlet for individuals to express themselves positively about issues that they feel passionately about.
In addition to creating content for our own community streaming channel, this exciting new initiative will also support community volunteers to produce moving image content for community websites, being developed as part of our Connected Communities project; building community websites for all 8 of the regeneration areas of the Aberdeen.
As a key member of our Film & TV Team, you will develop, implement and report on all operational areas of the new Community TV initiative for the organisation.
You will also support the implementation and delivery of learning opportunities and training courses in moving image education, TV and filmmaking across the organisation, including support the Film & TV Team in the delivery, moderation and assessment for our accredited moving image education, TV and filmmaking courses.
You will play a key role in the development and implementation of the organisation’s Live Streaming Service, providing an ethical and cost-effective video streaming service for cultural and community organisations across the North East
Closing date for applications is 25th October 2020.
