BFI Film Academy – UK Network and Residential

An advanced film making programme for young people aged 16-19.

Part of a UK Network, the BFI Film Academy is an advanced programme for young people aged 16-19.

Participants undergo intensive development in film understanding and watching, screenwriting, production, cinematography, sound recording, directing, acting and editing, with the addition of Industry Masterclasses and progression support towards education and the workplace.

Screen Education Edinburgh delivers two Academies in Scotland; a Network programmes in Edinburgh & South East Scotland and the BFI Film Academy Scotland Residential. SHMU in Aberdeen and Gmac Film in Glasgow also deliver BFI Film Academies.  

BFI\Skillset Preparing to Work in the Film Industry qualification is embedded into all of our Network Film Academy programme.
