Film Access Training: Neurodiversity

May 16, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Tuesday 16 May 2023, 2:00pm to 4:00pm

This practical session facilitated by biggerhouse will focus on neurodiversity awareness in conversation with three filmmakers they previously worked with.

This is part of their ongoing film talent development programme Different Voices for emerging Neurodiverse filmmakers and creatives from the Bristol area. They will present examples of their work and discuss what inspired them to make the films and how the process of working with biggerhouse was for them.

This is an interactive session with a showcase of work and a Q&A with the participants. It hopes to inform film access programme design and practice.

About biggerhouse film:

biggerhouse film have been working together for 20 years making films with people. They describe their practice as making creative work with people who might describe themselves as being or feeling ‘removed from the centre’. This can include working with neurodivergent filmmakers, people with learning disabilities, people living with dementia and sometimes young people belonging to the LGBTQI+ community.

The training sessions are free to attend for our members and associates. To join Film Access Scotland visit: filmaccess.scot/join-us/

Film Access Scotland delivers training opportunities to develop the practice and skills of individuals and organisations working in the Film Access Sector.

To make these sessions as relevant and useful as possible for participants, registered participants will be expected to have some basic familiarity with the topics or undergone basic training on the topics covered by the training.
